Hi – How, oh how, do I get the ja slideshow in the same place as in the JAOpal demo? I have been reading the forums for days and can not get it in the right place. http://lincolntrojans.com/joomla/

    The position ja-slideshow shoves it under the frontpage news. I tried creating a custom highlight module for user5 to force the slideshow position, but it’s still in the wrong spot.

    Driving me crazy…any help would be awesome.

    :confused:

    Hi – Thanks for replying. I’ve already read through the user guide afew times trying to figure this out….I have configured my slideshow using the same parameters as shown in the guide. But, I’m not seeing anything specific as to how to get the slideshow to actually go where it’s supposed to go.

    I currently have the position for my slideshow in ja-news because it’s the only way I can get it even show up on the homepage. If I select ja-slideshow, it disappears completely. (See image)

    Can you provide some more information?

    Thanks.

    I don’t know what’s wrong with JA slide show, it won’t works if you r not enable both :
    ja slide show at ja slide show position and highlight module at user 5 position.

    How do you enable the highlight module?

    I can’t find this module in the module manager so I tried to create a custom module (which you can see on homepage). I put that in user5 area but that still hasn’t solved the problem.

    Mayke – This worked like a charm! Thank you for sending the images. The item I was missing was to make the mod_newsflash into the Highlight Module and move that into user5. Once I got that done, everything fell into place.
    😀

    You are welcome, mistery of JA SlideShow and special relationship with user5…

    In your index.php….
<?php if ($this->countModules(‘ja-slideshow’) && $this->countModules(‘user5’) ) { ?>
The && means that unless both positions have modules in them (for that page) then neither will be rendered in the HTML. If you change the && to || then either one can be shown on their own. This can have adverse effects depending on the CSS for those positions.

    Thank you scotty, is just why JA put this condition in their templates and for what reasons, many beginners will be lost in this part, like me forsure.

    it’s just because of the style of the template. If you put something in user5 and not in the slideshow then you have a big empty window.
