I am trying to make use of ja_charity in multilingual website. After enabling multi languages the main page slide show module has stopped appearing.

Could you please advise?

Hi

Your slideshow module is assigned to the position home-1 this position is not available into layout choosed for your main menu item ( it has assigned the default layout ) and default layout has no home-1 position

so you should change layout assigned to your menu items from default to home-1
