October 15, 2009 at 1:43 pm #145233Whenever my homepage is loaded or re-loaded, the slideshow mod does this really weird and messy transition as the page is loading. (Show below)
Is this how it’s supposed to operate?
Has anyone else encountered the same thing and know what’s causing it + how to fix??Site URL : http://www.tonyamoore.com

October 15, 2009 at 2:20 pm #320587Hello,
I took a quick look, and i think the size of the images that you are using might be too big. That is why it is taking so much time. Once the images load, they get back into the slideshow.

October 15, 2009 at 8:35 pm #320622I’ve tried changing image sizes – even reverted back to the original images that came with the template. I also tried disabling the plugins+modules that I saw were loading (?) on page re-load… no change.
Sees like it might be something to do with the sideshow module, itself… but I really don’t know.
My explanation probably doesn’t make much sense… I’m just that perplexed by it.
October 17, 2009 at 2:22 pm #320790I have the same problem as mikodragonfly allthough I not changed to template at all yet.

October 18, 2009 at 4:06 am #320830Same here – It’s ok when it’s finished loading, but it looks bad when it’s in progress… Had Slideshow2 on my prevous JA Opal template and that didn’t have this problem

Hello,
Since the JA Slideshow II is a module it shouldnt have a problem, because a lot of other templates use it and they do not have a problem. As i mentioned earlier, please check the size(in kb’s) of your images. They might be too heavy and that is why it is taking time & breaking layout.

October 18, 2009 at 10:37 am #320839Hey Guys, For me I tried deleting the custom HTML > MOD_JASLIDESHOW2 folder that’s in the Halite template directory – only because I already had the module installed separately from JA OPAL…… but the thing is, now it works without the page load problem…. It might be something to do with that ‘mask’ image of the Apple Mac it has….
Anyway, I notice the operation of the mouseover text is a bit different to the JA Opal version – with that you could mouseover anywhere on the image – with this one you have to mouseover the teeny tiny ‘read more’ first – Where would I revert to it so that you can mouseover anywhere on the image? Any ideas?
We’re getting there! This is the best template yet I think!

October 18, 2009 at 3:28 pm #320850OK – re my earlier post – I got the CSS fixed by overwriting it with the CSS in the Slideshow Module from the JA Opal template….
Not necessarily recommending that as the official solution but works for me 🙂

I cant get the thing to fade in and out.

Take a look at my slide show…..

The slides seem to snap in and out with no fade at all…..is that what yours is doing?I put my setting up in the other thread if you want to compare them with yours.
cndOctober 18, 2009 at 6:41 pm #320866Yepp, exactly the same problem as mentioned in the first post of this topic :((

Location: Tu Liem – Ha Noi – Helped me solve the problem….
It’s in the setting……. I tweaked the setting and came up with…..best fade setting
Here is the setting I like best ….Animation Duration – 2000
Animation Type – Fading
Effect – Linear
Interval – 9000http://www.apartmentsphiladelphia.com/cms/
That gives me a nice slow fade in – fade out
