    Hi,

I’m having some problems with the slideshow module in a website I’m helping to develop.
Some of the problem apply to all browsers, but most apply only to IE.
The website is viewable here: http://82.102.6.199/~imarkeee/

Starting with the problems in all browsers:
If you open the website you’ll see that the slideshow module in present in the “slideshow” and “highlights” variants.
However, in the highlights section, I can’t place the read more button. I’ve enabled it on the module, but it doesn’t appear on the page. Why is this happening?
Also, when the module “imports” the content from the articles, it should be able to resize the pictures it finds. However, so far I was only able to use pictures with the maximum height of the module, otherwise it would crop the pic on the bottom… Is it possible to enable a resizing function? I’ve tried the one on the module, but it wasn’t working at all.

On internet explorer, in particular, version 8 (the one I tested), I have a few more problems…
    (1) On the “highlights” module, the description text doesn’t come justified, unlike all other browsers. Is it possible to have it justified in IE?
    (2) The character length function doesn’t cut off the description of the displayed content after the number of characters I entered in the module configuration. It works on all other browsers, so IE should be no exception…
    (3) In the “slideshow” module, the names of the articles are not appearing after the transitions. The shadows appear, as well as the pictures, but not the names of the articles. Again, it works on all other browsers, so IE should be no exception…

Can you help me with these problems?… I’ve tried many things to fix them but I’m afraid I need extra hands to solve them!

    Thanks for the attention,

    Miguel Pinheiro

Please update all of your JA Components. If you go to the JA Extension manager you will see a lot are quite a few versions behind. Please make sure you take bakups first, just in case.

    Hi,
I went to the JA extension Manager to do the update.
I did some successfully, but for most I get this message:
“Response from JoomlArt Updater Service: Your account does not have enough permission to take this action. Please contact “JoomlArt Updater Service” for more information or use another account.”

I was able to update: JA Ext Manager and JA T3 Framework…

How do I get past this “permission” issue? I was using a super admin account…

    Thanks again!
    Miguel

You are not the first to see this error. It is simply because you need to go the the JA Extensions Manager and on the left you will see a menu option called “Services Manager”. Go in there and edit the “Joomlart Updater Service” with the same credentials you use to login to this forum, not your super admin logon. This enables the JA system to check that you are an active member who is allowed to download our templates and extensions.

Well, the update broke many things in my website… the slideshow, the highlights, the menus… ufff..
I’ll have to restore from a backup and start all over again…

You can roll back with the extension manager to their original state.

After rolling back the template, the slideshow module regained functionality, but the menus are still broken… only my server back-up will solve this…
