I have 8 images under the folder images/stories/slideshow and the code for the slideshow is using 5 of them as in the following code. Strange is that slideshow module shows all the images under the slideshow folder disregarding what is in the description box.
It shows that this module’s top priority is the folder not the description box and thus we will need many folders in case we would like to have duplicates of this module.
Can you offer a work-around for this issue?

August 23, 2011 at 3:36 pm #407927you can add more descriptions if there is more images or can delete some descriptions if there is less images. it is all up to how you wish it to be.
you can either modify the module to get images from content, or from images folder, and you should give the path of the images folder you will use.
for example, I use 4 images on my website and the slideshow is working very well.
to add more descriptions, simply copy paste the previous description line and change the description and image name, that’s all. or if you want less, simply remove some of the descriptions and you’ve done.

I want to add more images to the folder but don’t want them to appear in every module duplicate.cyprusmedya Friendcyprusmedya

August 23, 2011 at 4:13 pm #407940let’s give this a try, for this, simply copy the slideshow module as many as you wish. put all images on a folder, and give the folder name on module setting page.
then, edit descriptions of each module as you wish, put the correct image names to each description, display the modules on any pages you wish and let’s see if it works.
as you see, there are image names on each description so each description are assigned to different images.

It is already done. I am using just the basic settings of the Portfolio quick start.
There are 8 images in this folder and 5 desc tags in the description box but frontend module shows 8 slides 3 of which have no description.cyprusmedya Friendcyprusmedya

August 24, 2011 at 3:12 pm #408178That is how the module works. It pulls all of the images from a folder (or an article depending on your setting). The desc tags will not stop that from happening. Without a re-code I see no way of doing what you would like.

August 25, 2011 at 12:15 am #408260I know this phil and was thinking of modifying the code to suit the needs of sural98. if this will not work then we have to create multiple folders aand multiple slideshows to solve the issue. actually all slideshow modules work that way when you choose to get images from folder instead of articles.
