April 21, 2008 at 1:43 pm #127746I have noticed that the Slimbox Slideshow in a Firebox Browser does not work. It works if you click on an individual image inside of the gallery. It does not work if you click on slide show. The slideshow option works in IE.
To clarifty, the slideshow pops up in a slimbox, but no pictures can be seen. This happens in all avian templates to look at any off them in a firefox browser and click on slideshow.
Is there a fix?

April 25, 2008 at 1:47 pm #246824A screenshot is not needed. Heres how you must do it.
Load FIREFOX browser on your computer if you do not have it yet. Everyone that works on websites should have atleast IE and FIREFOX loaded to test out their websites.
Go to a website with the AVIAN TEMPLATE.
Go to and open gallery of pictures.
Click on a picture to open up in POP UP WINDOW, this is called the slimbox.
This pop up window works in IE but not in FIREFOX.

May 6, 2008 at 3:58 pm #247965I have tried to look and see if there was a change that I made but, but if I did make a change it was one made by a recommendation from you my friend. I only do what you say 🙂
I have looked at two sites just now in FIREFOX.
A user heres site here: baseballmilwaukee.com – has the issue I originally posted
The JA Template from showcase: JA AVAIN II JA Template – does not have the issue I originally posted
WHAT FILE would have the code that would effect slimbox in FF but not in IE for the page in question?
WHAT FILE and what section would I need to go to to remove the GALLERY link from inside a gallery (but leave it on front page where all galleries are listed?)? Sometimes its easier for the time being to remove an option than leave it up to be troubleshot.Here was our LAST communication on the topic:
Hi,
Seem you have changed something in code, so It cann’t display image.
Can you say what do you change?</blockquote>I have to admit that right now I am a little confused. On my back up/test site:
http://www.lemoslife.com/dev/backup1 I see that in the gallery the DROP DOWN LIMIT BOX is removed. I know I removed it from your instruction on how to do so.I’m looking at gallery.php on my site here:
/public_html/dev/backup1/components/com_rsgallery2/templates/ja_semantic/html
In my notes from you I have how-to “Hide Gallery Drop Down Limit Box”:
“open gallery.php(componentscom_rsgallery2templatesja _semantichtml) to edit , search those lines (~line 48)”
<li><?php
//Show limitbox
if( @$this->pageNav ):
?>
<div class="rsg2-pagenav-limitbox">
<?php echo $this->pageNav->writeLimitBox($toollink); ?>
</div>
<?php endif; ?>
</li>
I got this info from you on [url=http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/gallery-drop-down-not-working/
Now I am confused because when I look at the gallery.php file I see that it is not as you mention above but in my 1.5.2 install it is like so:
<li><?php
//Show limitbox
if( @$this->pageNav ):
?>
<div class="rsg2-pagenav-limitbox">
<?php echo $this->pageNav->writeLimitBox($toollink);
//if (function_exists('writeLimitBox_1')) return writeLimitBox_1($toollink);;
?>
</div>
<?php endif; ?>
</li>
MAYBE MY NOTES ARE OLD? MAYBE THIS WAS A HACK FOR 1.5.1 AND WHEN I DOWNLOADED 1.5.2 QUICKINSTALL YOU PUT IT LIKE THIS?
This is the only change I can think of that was made. What else can it be that makes the slimbox popup not work in firefox?</blockquote>

June 6, 2008 at 2:19 pm #252342This is part of the problem and reason why the issue lives. The below response was taken from the post: Slideshow and Firefox issues.
<em>@hainn84 57432 wrote:</em><blockquote>Hi jonathanq !
I think that this problem caused by Name of images, Please view image attachement for detail . In image attachment is list of image will display in slideshow When click on slideshow on 1985 AE86 GTS. please rename image and update in rsgallery and try again.</blockquote>I’ll give you a thank you for having the noodles to figure this out and inform us at the least that this is why its happening.
BUT WHY MAN WHY?!
This is not an issue with INTERNET EXPLORER.
This IS AN ISSUE when using the mighty FIREFOX!
Shoot — I have almost 500 pictures on my site, I can’t see me have the time to rename them all now just so the slideshow works for firefox when most people use IE.
IS THERE ANY OTHER SOLUTION?
Why would it do that in FF and not in IE?
I’m flustered :confused: >:(
