    Over the past 4 weeks I have made a huge effort to bring down the page speed of my site from a very painful 30-60 seconds to under 4. By religiously following all the recommendations of tools like Google PageSpeed, Yslow and Pingdom Tools, and by putting my site on a crash diet, removing every single extension that is not mission critical, I was able bring the page speed to 1 to 1.5 seconds. There is only one main challenge left to do and that is to make the template faster.

    Have a look at this analysis, which lists the invididual items of my homepage by opening time requirement.

    http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/c3aZH0/therebel.is

    The first item with a loading time of 0.5 seconds is the javascripts, nicely compressed and bundled by JCH-Optimize. I don’t have a problem with that.

    The second one though, with a downloading time of 0.274 seconds, is what I’m concerned about and the reason for this ticket. I’ve been told that item was the template, JA Teline V.

    Now, I’m running a pretty decent setup. My dedicated server has 128GB of RAM, 12 Quads and a 1GB SSD RAID. On top of that, I’m using the MaxCDN service.

    Your template is consistently the slowest or second slowest item in the “Waterfall” analysis on any page of my site. As much as I love Teline V, I’d appreciate if you did something about its page opening speed. I’m sure you are aware how an important factor speed is when comparing template vendors and templates themselves.

    I agree that JA Teline can be real slow. I had it on my previous server and it performed the same. I had similar issues that you are facing right now.

    Then I moved it a new server – my first choice was to get a dedicated server and put this website along with my other websites on the same box. But luckily I came across digitalocean. I created droplet of their 2nd cheapest server of $10 per month that offers 1GB RAM and 30GB HDD and 1 core CPU. Enabled progressive cache at the backend with 15 min expiration time, because contents on my website are frequent.

    You can see the result:

    I agree JA Teline has a long list of bugs and weird problems, but they did some real awesome work in here, including the perfect design layout for news/magazine websites and the caching technique. Rest assured they are slow at development but we are getting there. I trust them to make these bugs go away, but they need to make things a little faster.

    I am still missing the frontend editor for my writers where users can create ACM from the frontend – events, gallaries, videos etc. These options are missing.

    @andrewwinkler:

    Please try to remove un-used content or extensions on your site and check whether your site has connection with other external sites, social sites or not. Sometime, if the connection from your host to these server is not good.
    @lovedigit: please try to follow the ticket/thread you posted, we will help you out.

    My site is beautifully optimised and has not a single extension installed that it does not need. You can check for yourself running GTmetrix or Pingdom Tools. After recaching, it opens most pages in under 1.5 seconds, with the template load making up about a third of the time. Just bare in mind that the server is located in Iceland, so it takes a bit longer top open from Australia than from Europe or the US east coast.

    Here is my test in GTmetrix, I think the result is quite good.

    In the waterfall graph, I see that it also takes time to load external image and some js files from com_community extension.
