I just installed this template, and I must say… it is extremely slow. Is anyone else experiencing this issue as well? I know it’s not my computer or internet connection. All other sites I navigate through are fast and I have tried from other locations using different ISP’s. I know it’s not my host because I have multiple sites hosted on the same server and none of the others react this way. A few of the JA Templates have been slow, but this one seems a lot slower than the others. It is making it very difficult to work with as everything takes forever to load. I’ve ran my site through the analyzer everyone recommends and it seems to take the most amount of time loading the headers. This is a fresh install. I noticed the demo on site site for JA Social is also somewhat slow. Any ideas/explanations by chance? I love the template and would like to use it but if I need, I’ll use another…

    yes, sometimes it’s really slow.
as I’ve seen there are used images in the header and the footer. how can I replace them with standard colours (hex #). this would make it faster, or am I wrong?
    other way/question:
what if I create a 1*1 image which is really small and use this instead of the bg-header and so on – will this work? also with different sizes?
I have no skills about design 😉

if the template has not got a lot of images, Sure that the site will work faster than. you Are using the ja social template which supported many features to speed up the performance’s site such template cache and CSS&JS compression.
Beside those features, you need to optimizate your joomla site, here is a good guide about that http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/websiteperformance/joomla15.htm
