Thx. It had some updates. But i doesn’t helped. Wondering i saw, that the Template was gone in the template manager. Also it wasent anymore listed in the extension manager. I restored now the website with the backup from yesterday. Also i saw that are some updates are availabe trough Extension manager but not via normal download. As example the the ja rave template, the version is 1.02 via download, the extension manager delivers a version 1.1

Any other ideas why the ja comment component does not work as expected?

something / someone is messing with files themselves. Templates don’t erase themselves. I’ve attempted to correct all this and there are some serious issues. IT LOOKS Like with the database. JA Extension Manager is getting confused very easily, which is leading me to believe you’ve got some database corruption going on. I would encourage you to hire someone to analyze your database and system and see if perhaps something is askew. You can try akeeba admin tools but I can’t be responsible for any damage that might or might not occur. They do have a good database optimization wizard that may fix everything, I just don’t know.

I have managed to get all joomlart extensions and templates updated as of this time.

Thanks for your time. But it is not a DB Issue. I installed the web site from scratch. Installed the Template JA Rave and the JA Comment Component. If i switch to Breeze or JA Purity everything works fine. Also something with the Template is wrong. Also the version 1.1 of JA Rave, which the Extension Manager will install, is not for Joomla 1.5. It is for 1.6. Also i tested with a clean install. If i update to 1.1, is it gone from the Template Manager. Please do not install Extension Manager nor update the template. Please fix the problem with the template it self.

    cheers

I work with hundreds of customers a month on various platforms and templates and have been working with Joomla since it’s inception and have never seen a situation such as yours. Oour template can NOT cause Joomla to forget what extensions are installed nor to rename them.

Perhaps you should wipe the slate clean and try a fresh install using the quickstart + sample data installation – see how that works for you?

And incidentally, all of our J1.6 templates have been updated for J1.7 …. including JA Rave.

    Hi all

As Tom recommended, i installed a second site with the quickstart, on the hosting provider. The same problem. Also i installed the quickstart on my localhost and the same problem.

Please have look at the attached pictures.

You got the credentials via Ticketing System.

WOW, your getting all kinds of weird behavior LOL… lets try this…

    1. please upgrade joomla to 1.5.23 as 1.5.22 has security vulnerability.
    2. go to “extension manager” —> install/uninstall —> and install a new version of JA Extension manager and then retry the process. If it does this same behavior we’ll need to escalate this to a ticket and get a dev involved.
    3. I’ll investigate a clean install of rave 1.5 on my localhost tonight and answer back with what I find. This will narrow it down to a “site” or “product” issue.

I spent several HOURS working on your site and still don’t understand why when you go to uninstall a template it shows a ghost one but the good news is I got the template working just fine, using our unpublished trunk. So HOPEFULLY this will cure the immediate issues.
I did install akeeba admin tools which you can remove as you wish.
you should go through JA Extension Manager and configure it but then you should be just fine.

    Hi n6rej

Thanks for your Help. The update for JA Rave Template is still showing in the Extension Manager. And also there is a ghost entry in the uninstall section.

But my initial problem was that the “Add Comment” is on the wrong place and that the social plugins from JA Comment Component arent showing. Please have look at the pictures.

    I thought, that i created a ticket?

    Cheers

yes, I mentioned the ghosting in my previous post. Was there when I got there and have not been able to make it go away.
Feel free to update rave. I tried to find that last nite and I guess I was too tired to notice. I’m going to re-escalate this and hopefully we can get this resolved.
