I’ve added my names in the twitter, Facebook and Youtube boxes No success still shows the same techcrunch, Mashable and Youtube feed that came with the Quick start. I have deleted all the ID’s and usernames but it still shows the same.

Also when using the feedgator is there a way to get it not to display the profile images from an article? I’m using a K2 feed from one of my other sites and its showing the profile image instead of the image from the article as the main image in JaWall

Note the JA Social Feed Plugin is totally separate from FeedGator – neither rely on each other for anything. They perform two totally separate tasks. The Social Feed pulls in from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram…FeedGator handles RSS feeds.

Please check the following settings in the JA Social Feed Plugin :

If you’re having problems getting it to work it might be that you’re using the wrong facebook ID. To make sure / figure out if you are using the correct facebook ID go to this article and read how to get your facebook ID.

I thought that to No success i’m using the corrrect ID. My last question is could it be the cron job? I”m using Cpanel does anyone the command needed. No experience this way using cron jobs

Just a update the twitter feed is working, The facebook and Youtube still show the same quick start content even after deleting them in the plugin

Well disabling the plugin or removing them from the plugin won’t erase the demo content from facebook, youtube, and twitter because it makes a article for each facebook, twitter, and youtube post. So you’re going to have to go to the article manager and manually delete the post for each one to get rid of them.

First of all set the permissions on the [FONT=arial black]/administrator/components/com_feedgator/cron.feedgator.php file to 755 (right click, “file permissions” in Filezilla or “file manager” through cpanel).

Then add this command to your cron jobs through cpanel:
    /usr/local/bin/php /home/username/public_html/administrator/components/com_feedgator/cron.feedgator.php

Where /home/username/public_html/ is your www directory.
(You should be able to see this on your cpanel home page)

I’m going to say it does, my facebook feed is now up and running 🙂 I do believe it was the Cron Job. I also forgot to mention I uninstalled the plugin, download the one from download area and reinstalled it. Once I did I noticed Instagram was added.
