So I added Facebook ID’s but it’s not showing any of their posts. Does the Social Feed only show posts that are newly created or does it grab all of their posts. Or how can you force it to grab the posts?

The documentation is a little slim to JA Wall, and I’m pretty sure I have it setup right but nothing is coming into the site. There is an issue with Feedgator working, just gives me a server 500 error, I’m not sure if I need that to work in order to grab the facebook feeds or not.

It seems to be a cache issue, I cleared the cache after updating the Social Feed plugin and Twitter shows up, but Facebook & Youtube doesn’t. So that leaves me the believe that it only grabs New posts and doesn’t retrieve the older posts as well?…

    Check the following:
The default is disabled, and CRON at 1 hour. CRON is the length of time your site waits before importing the latest posts.

The only other question would be,

Does it pull old Facebook,Twitter,Youtube Posts? What are the settings for pulling that information, it is set to the time you’ve enabled the plugin and the cron looks for posts from that date on or can I set it to grab all posts or a time frame of posts?

In the JA Social Feed Plugin – hover your mouse over each Parameter Description to see an explanation of what it does.

Currently the Social Feed Plugin only grabs the # of posts you set it to pull in. You will note, this import REALLY IS AN IMPORT, meaning it’s not just showing the posts, it imports them, converts them to Joomla or K2 content and set them to a particular category … just as if you had created the post yourself. That’s the power of this Plugin. It does not currently allow for start and stop settings other than enabling and disabling.

So, does it pull in old posts? – Yes and no. Let’s say you’ve set your IMPORT LIMIT TO 30 – when CRON runs it will pull in the last 30 posts to that Facebook, Twitter, YouTube account. It won’t duplicate. So if CRON has previously pulled in 30 posts and since the last run there was only 5 new posts…it will only pull in those 5 new ones.

    Have fun!

Ok, so if I want to grab a ton of posts I should set it to a shit ton 🙂

Correct…though I’m not sure we have that exact amount as an option! 🙂
