February 6, 2008 at 3:46 pm #125527I have tried for over a month to get someone to get back to me re: getting my affiliate payment paid, but besides the automatic response, I haven’t gotten any response at all.
Pretty much similar to Klaus’ issue in thread: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/affiliate-commisions-not-being-paid/
This seriously puts JA in a very bad light where you cannot trust them to pay the commissions on sales made; and even more so – the lack of respect by not bothering to answer at all is appaling, whats the point of tracking incomming emails if you do not bother responding.
Klaus put it best when he said – “I would kindly ask for this to be cleared up without further delay. I’m prepared to create a major stink if it isn’t.”
Kind Regards,

February 15, 2008 at 11:57 am #239234I am still waiting for something regarding this… Both Menalto and Miccas has offered to do something but nothing is being done.
This shows that JoomlArts affiliate program is not a good way to go, sure you can make commissions but they won’t pay up, that is extremely poor business ethics if you ask me!!!!

February 15, 2008 at 4:17 pm #239242I know that… and I appreciate you pointing the ticket to the right person… Who is that person by the way? Hung?
What I cannot understand is why I am not getting a reply back from that person, infact, I should not even have to make this a public issue. It should have been taken care of as it clearly states in the affiliate agreement, the following month after reaching $100 – payment will automatically be made.
Well, I reached that in July of 2007 and for the last couple of months I have been waiting to hear something about this BEFORE taking it public.
I can just assume that JoomlArt is purposely not paying out affiliate payments that are due, and I strongly urge anyone that has an affiliate account with JA to check their balances because I doubt that any payments are made without having to complain about it. I have seen other posts about missing affiliate payments so it would appear this is a common issue.
Having to complain about getting the money that should have been paid a long time ago without bitching and moaning makes the JA affiliate program a scam in my books!

February 16, 2008 at 11:10 am #239282I would love to hear from others that have taken the time to look at their affiliate account and notice that they too should have received their affiliate payment a long time ago.
HUNG – any particular reason you are not bothering to even bother replying to this thread or better yet the trouble tickets I have entered about my missing affiliate payments?

February 17, 2008 at 5:15 pm #239334Hung – are you planning to do something about this or keep ignoring the issue?
It truly makes the JA affiliate program a complete scam!

February 19, 2008 at 8:50 am #239495I am officially calling the JoomlArt’s Affiliate program a scam!
Poor customer service (Miccas and Menalto obviously does not have the access to deal with these kinds of situations, no fault of their own) but Hung who keeps logging on the system has completely and utterly just ignored any and all communications from me.
I have used the contact box several times over a period of two months, without ANY answer except a sporadic one from Miccas that he will forward it to the right person.
The Affiliate payment is 6 months due and I have silently asked about it for the last couple of months, I have PMd HUNG as he is supposed the leader of this pack and he ignores me flat out.
I will keep raising a stink about this this I receive my affiliate payment, until then I suggest and implore people not to use their affiliate program as even if you do get sales, you won’t get paid for them!
Compound this with changing from a two promised templates a month to slowing down to one template in a month, which means that the ones with a developer license does not get the promised number of templates that he has paid for (speaking for my own situation but it applies to all of us who paid for the annual developer membership).
JS is going down the drain, they rely on nice moderators (again I mention Miccas and Menalto) but ultimately they don’t have the power to do anything about customer service issue (from what I can tell atleast).
Very disappointing and very much a scam in every sense of the word!

February 19, 2008 at 9:35 am #239499Well, thats great news – I hope you (as in JA) can keep that up in the long run.
Again, I want to stress that there should be some kind of protocol that when a released template has a bug found in it that is fixed, it should be updated in the packages. Why re-invent the wheel twice, wasting time searching the forums for a bug that should already have been squashed and fixed in the package that I download today.
Maybe even have a blog better yet a daily newsletter that we could sign up to that would include bugfixes found in templates so we can be made aware of bugs we might not have noticed but like to get rid of none the less.
Straying from the main source of this thread however.. Whats going on with my affiliate commission?

February 19, 2008 at 11:10 am #239508Well… After a lof of hassle, this issue has been fixed and Hung was kind enough to explain to me what happened.
Apparently their affiliate software does not include the $10 signup bonus into consideration when calculating the payout, and I was 20c short of a hundred, but the $10 put me over the $100 payout limit, so I was in limbo, having made the cut but the glitch popping me into nomansland sort of speak.
Now – to be fair, this could and should have been handled a lot quicker without the need to go public but Hung mentioned he would get in touch with iDevDirect (the affiliate software guys) to have them create a fix for this so hopefully it will not happen to anyone else and those that haven’t bothered checking their stats and complained, I can only hope that this has been fixed by the 1st of March so you all will receive your fair payouts.
If I could be so bold, I think that the treshhold of $100 is a little steep, and I would suggest maybe making it a little bit more affiliate friendly and drop it to $50, but that is another issue all together.
All is clear in the western skies, thanks Hung for fixing the issue and explaining what and why it happened and another big thanks to Miccas for helping me bug.
Cheers,
–Tone
