    Hello,

For some reason, I cannot display articles on my front page in the order that I set them. No matter what I do to change the order, they will not re-order.

Any tips on how to fix this?

C’mon Joomlart guys. It’s been over a week. I really need help on this.

I have no control over how any of my articles are displayed on any pages. This is kind of a big deal. I need articles to display in a certain order and there is no way to control this.

No matter how I order the articles in Joomla, they are still displayed in a random order. Please see the screen shot. I added (in red) how the articles are actually displaying on my page, despite the settings (circled in red).

    Can anyone help?

Can you give us your live URL, any screenshot or more details of the problem will be helpful

I’m not sure if I can help but I will try. Two things to look at, if you haven’t already.

    1. After you put the articles in numerical order are you hitting this image and then hitting save?

    2. In your Menu Manager click on your main menu and then click on the “Default Home.” In the parameters, check under “Parameters–Advanced.” Under “Primary Order” make it say “Order” instead of Default.

Not sure if this will help but we can try.

this isn’t a JA issue, this is a joomla issue,

like jwellman said, have you tried reordering and hitting the little save graphic.

also you can use the arrows to move items to other positions in the order

Yes, of course I saved the order. I used the arrows – and saved; I typed it in – and saved; I saved, saved, saved and tried it all over again. The order of the articles on the front page never reflected the order I had set and saved in the backend.

MJ1256, you’re right – it’s a Joomla issue, not a template one. It’s a little idiosyncrasy I wasn’t aware of previously and had never encountered in other templates.

Jwellman provided the solution. I did not know that “default” overrode my saved order settings. Thank you jwellman, for pointing out that each menu page needs to be set to “order” instead of “default”. I thought that “default” meant that it reverted to whatever order I had set and saved for it.

It was an easy solution which I’ve now applied to all the pages in my menu.

    Thanks for your help.
