hi,
I am happy with the template in IE7, but it looks completely different in IE6.
The text size in IE6 is too big and cannot be resized with the tools. Also the bottoms of the tools in the upper-right corner look different. Also the modules on the right side appear on the bottom of the page (where the main content ends) instead of next to the main body.
This ist the URL to my site http://www.12sail.nl
As you can see, I made some changes to the template. Maybe I messed up the CSS code somewhere, any idea where to look?
Attached please see the .css sheet also
Thanks in advance for your help.Ralph

March 14, 2007 at 11:21 am #215769Without knowing for sure I would suspect there could be some issues with Joomfish. You can see the text changes ( for Netherlands ) when using the text resizer. In Firefox it works for the entire site so perhaps it is something else. Usually this is caused by components some way or another.
The reason for your right hand column to be “pushed” to the bottom is simply that FF and IE renders this differently. Try to decrease the size of the images in your articles with about 5-10 pixels each ( in the width ) This should take care of the right hand column being pushed down.
March 14, 2007 at 11:39 am #215771Thanks Eric, I unpublished the Joomfish module but it did not make any difference.
Any other ideas? Most people still use IE6 so I have to solve this quickly. Hoping for all of your support.Thx and regards,

March 14, 2007 at 11:58 am #215777Well, I am thinking about JoomFish as having conflicting javascript or other. Further to this I see that you still have Joomfish on the “top” module.. 🙂

March 14, 2007 at 12:57 pm #215788Thanks Eric, I moved the joomfish module to position ‘left’ to see if this makes difference but unfortunately not.
I found another side also working with this Zibal template together with joomfish on http://www.douweklaucke.nl
Here it’s working without any problems. Also I dont understand why it happends only in IE6, Is there any specific code in the CSS for IE6 which causes this?

March 14, 2007 at 2:40 pm #215792Well, basically IE sucks big time because it doesn’t follow webstandards. Unfortunately I am not skilled enough to tell you how/why/what is wrong other than try to point in the right direction I am afraid. Contact the owners of that site perhaps and ask if they had to do any modifications and if they would be kind enough to help you out with any custom-made code and then come back here and post it for others to use??? That would probably be a good idea… //patting myself on my back//
March 16, 2007 at 8:17 am #215907OK I solved the problem by re-installing the template.css and index.php.
Thanx for support
