Hi Folks,
I developed my site on a test server and everything working perfectly. We then moved it over to the live server and the articles in JA-News stopped displaying. It was configured correctly on the test server and it everything worked perfectly. It displays the correct number of articles and also displays the first article (once) but nothing after that.I’m sure it must be something simple but I have checked the configuration and it is all correct (I hope).

Much obliged for your help. 🙂
Cheers

IainHi Iain
it looks like it’s trying hard to work doesn’t it/ I’d just recheck the pathing in the ja news module again, it may be wise to unpublish the ja news module and republish or at worse scenario remove and reinstall ja news itself.the move from one server or sub domain etc may have left something embedded in the code, so the best way to be sure is delete ja news and reinstall
I hope this helps

May 4, 2007 at 3:03 am #219417I think you have to see your Show intro, Show image and Categories ID in JA-News module config to have a better display.
P/S: I see in your header (logo) have an white line in. It’s not cool. :p

</blockquote>Hi ShannonN – Thanks for your prompt reply (as always). I think you are right here. Had tried everything else but best option may be to reinstall. Bit frustrating has I have 8 occurrences of JA-News in various configurations across the site. Never mind – might be the less of all evils!

Oceandragon: Show Intro/Image are not parameters that affect the headline module.
Re white line its on the list to fix – but cheers for pointing it out!!!May 4, 2007 at 7:32 am #219428Update:
Uninstalling followed by reinstalling has NOT fixed the problem. ARGHHH!

May 4, 2007 at 9:18 am #219436Please make sure that you publish some articles on frontpage to display it in the Headline. You could view your frontpage items by going to “Content->Frontpage Manager”.

Khanh Le: Cheers for the response. Items are published (you may have gone to the site while I was “messing around” with it). As I mentioned, it was working perfectly before the move!!
This is the action I have taken thus far:
1) Unpublished/republished the Ja_News module
2) Uninstalled/reinstalled module
3) Unchecked and rechecked content to appear on the front page
4) Unpublished and republished all front page content
5) Added additional txt and resaved all front page content
6) Checked front page menu to ensure Leading & Intro both = 0None of the above has worked. The problem is identical after every change. Basically, the top story is displayed but then when it moves on nothing is displayed. The number of articles is correct ie 1/5 and once it has completed a full rotation nothing is displayed – not even the article that was displayed originally.
I’m now out of ideas :((
Cheers
IainMay 7, 2007 at 7:45 am #219597Finally got this one solved. It was a problem with Joomla file structure which occurred when I switched from the demo server to the live server. Once the main file structure was cleaned up then the error went away.
