    Hello, I have some problem with these characters : “-” (dash), ” ” (space) and “‘” (simple quote).

    The website I’m working on is in french and some fields require french cities using these characters. I have no problem with accents and “_”.

    How can I do when I’m creating and reindexing extra fields :
    – to replace ” ” by “;” (semi-colon) automatically
    – to escape “‘” (for exemple addslashes and stripslashes)

    Thanks by advance !

    Thank you, the decimal characters work.
    – space => use &diese32;
    – dash => use –
    – quote -> use ยด

    Hello,

    I have a similar issue with using the dash in my site, http://www.smartwater.com.au. I have an extra field that shows the project number for items. Sometimes this project number is 52M-2027 and if you put this full number (including the dash) in the search field, you will find the correct item. However, if you put another project number, say 413-003, no results are shown, despite the fact that there is an item with an extra field project number of 413-003. I’ve had a few people look at this and we can’t seem to get to the bottom of why this is happening…
    Appreciate any help. I don’t understand the meaning of the link posted by Cahvan and what I’m supposed to do with that information!

    Thanks!
