January 11, 2013 at 7:24 pm #183876Today I got an update from Firefox and now the template is broken. Something with JA News Frontpage Module is not right now.
If I use Chrome everything is okay.
I can see in firefox error console:

Man…it has been a nightmare with your templates. , first many issues with the configuration then cache and now is broken with a browser change. so unstable programs you create.

I do not believe it is the template itself so much as some conflicting issue with the Firefox browser update.
I have created a Help Desk Ticket for you – to escalate the issue to our JA Developers for review and further comment.

January 12, 2013 at 4:22 am #479453Thank you TomC.
I just updated another machine and before it, version 17.0.1 was working fine. version 18.0 is the one having issues. Template is broken or the module but you can check my web site with different versions and see the difference.

Thanks.

January 14, 2013 at 7:50 pm #479689Thank you Cimfema, I just checked your website and no problems. There must be something else affecting this module. When I run your web site, the firefox error console doesn’t report any problems, no errors, some warnings but no errors. when I run my site it shows these errors:

January 14, 2013 at 8:31 pm #479699I checked the source code generated by your web site and I think based on the errors thrown by firefox, you don’t have included in your template this javascript file:
index.php?jat3action=gzip&jatype=js&jafile=t3-assets%2Fjsa8796.js
That seems to be the problem or the one causing it. Seems that I am doing JoomlaArt job, I will post more details or maybe not…

January 14, 2013 at 9:07 pm #479703So it appears to be – as I guessed from the start – a Mozilla/Firefox issue and not a JoomlArt template issue

January 14, 2013 at 9:33 pm #479706Yes, but it is breaking the template and we can’t just not use firefox or ask users to use other browser.
It seems that something has to be added to the code before calling mootools based on this post:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=428&t=785730
There it says where to add it and I am trying to right now. But based on the error displayed in firefox, mootools is also loaded from the template, which is what JoomlaArt should help.
I will add that code as it says for joomla in /media/system/js and /plugins/system/mtupgrade and post results.

January 14, 2013 at 9:52 pm #479709Here is the solution and this might not apply to all versions of Mootools used in this template since there is another case reported with similar issue and is using a different version of mootools.
Mootools Version version:”1.2.5″ in file t3-assets/jsa8796.js
Adding these lines fixed the issue:
AFTER this line:
var MooTools={version:”1.2.5″,build:”008d8f0f2fcc2044e54fdd3635341aaab274e757″};ADD this code:
String.prototype.contains = function(string, separator){
return (separator) ? (separator + this + separator).indexOf(separator + string + separator) > -1 : String(this).indexOf(string) > -1;
};
That makes the trick.

January 14, 2013 at 10:20 pm #479713I think I spoke beforehand.
I closed my browser and now shows the same problem. The difference is that now is not using file /jsa8796.js but this one: /js0aa35.js
Why does the template changes the file? and how many of them will be used? I can see in t3-assets directory a lot of different .js files, what is the condition a different file is picked up?
This is really affecting my web site and I don’t see any urgency from Joomla Art to provide a solution on this.

January 14, 2013 at 10:22 pm #479714I have facilitated creating TWO Help Desk Tickets for you – to bring this to the attention of the JA Developers to look into.
In the interim, you can always revert back to the former version of Firefox – when things (apparently) worked correctly – while this issue is addressed.

January 15, 2013 at 2:06 am #479727Here is what I found and I am not sure if this covers all options for the template.
When a user is not logged in, jsa8796.js is used.
When a user is logged in, js0aa35.js is used.I added that code in both files and seems to be working now. What I don’t know is if some other component or something else in the template is using one or more of the files in t3-assets directory and need to be changed too.
