August 3, 2008 at 2:52 am #263581really nice, isn’t it great when you get decent content to work with
if you want a few more professional touches.
remove the written by credits such as (Written by Administrator )
remove the date from each page (Friday, 16 May 2008 03:41)
remove the date modified credit (Last Updated ( Friday, 16 May 2008 11:59 ))whats going to happen is time will pass and their site visitors will see that the site is really old and the content is old. If they see its not recent, they will not trust it. It serves no purpose.
also, as this is a business, you need to look up canonical 301 redirects.
google sees this site as have two domains
http://southeastbankservices.com
and
http://www.southeastbankservices.comthis will cause the site to incur a duplication penalty on google. you surely do not what to be blamed for that. 😉
i put the syntax and instructions on the forum many times.

August 3, 2008 at 5:08 am #263588This site looks great. Like the color and header.
I have to agree MJ1256 and the removal of the author and date information for a business site. I do like the content. The glossary has great content, I think I will need to ad one to my real estate related site as well.
I did notice that some of the FAQ questions had a different font color. Some had the green, the same as the bank name. Check the answers as well, one was all bold. And thanks for canonical 301 redirects note, I am going to check it out for myself.
I would also consider removing the Print, PDF and E-Mail links for the content. I decided that I did not want to have all my content easily distributed.

September 1, 2008 at 12:16 pm #268138Ditto,
Very nice use of this fine template. Good clean graphics and content. I also agree with the others’ comments I would add a couple more myself:
1) you might want to update the “Copyright © 2006 JA Mercury. Joomla! is Free Software released under the GNU/GPL Licens” on the bottom and put the Bank’s copyright with appropriate year/range on every page
2) you might want to remove the administrator link, have the Admins bookmark it for themselves.Cheers

September 2, 2008 at 3:19 am #268240A very timely site especially now that the US is going tru a credit crises !
On a more serious note – why have one whole area at the top for the bank logo and then repeat it again below with a picture of the key staff ..space is a premium on any site so maybe you like to think of how to handle this redundancy

September 2, 2008 at 10:09 am #268284You raise a good point 2Patrick. Why is it that so many Joomla/Mambo templates absorb half the screen with big banners on the top and empty space on the sides? I’ve always been puzzled by this phenomenon.
