Dear ddm2,

Please open template.css file in templates/ja_rutile/css folder, at about line 192, find following script:

.article_separator, .article_seperator {
background:transparent url(../images/dot.gif) repeat-x scroll center center;
clear:both;
display:block;
height:30px;
margin:0;
}

Here you can change space to your requirement.
