October 10, 2009 at 7:24 am #145062Hi guys,
i have seen several posts about speeding up your website as JA telline iii is massive.
What i have done right now is
disabeling JA Zin after structure is generated
disabeld Disqus or Intensedebate as it tooks time to load. Now i have visited my site with Firebug and YSlow. The result was poor.
I came across this extension from another post
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/cache/7350/detailsWhat do you think about this?
Is it possible to place all css in one file? Why didnt JA this not from the beginning?Gzip compression, anyone here with hostgator? I dont think that my entry in .htaccess is working.
Please share your ideas on how to speed things up. And take a look on your site with firebug and yslow, here is my result:
Grade E (!)
Grade F on Make fewer HTTP requests
- This page has 19 external Javascript scripts. Try combining them into one.
- This page has 18 external stylesheets. Try combining them into one.
- This page has 29 external background images. Try combining them with CSS sprites.
Grade F on Use a Content Delivery Network (CDN)
There are 87 static components that are not on CDN.Grade F on Add Expires headers
There are 85 static components without a far-future expiration date.Grade F on Compress components with gzip
There are 32 plain text components that should be sent compressedGrade F on Put JavaScript at bottom
There are 15 Javacript scripts found in the head of the documentGrade F on Configure entity tags (ETags)
There are 78 components with misconfigured ETagsAny ideas how to get this better?
Cheers

October 11, 2009 at 9:53 pm #320212I tried a compressor called cssjscompress on a site (not teline 3) and it helped a bit but caused a couple of problems in itself, some things just broke or hated it and had to be excluded.
I also keep gzip turned off in Joomla because I’ve found that can cause issues with some joomla extensions as well.
Also the more things you add to joomla the more chance there is there will be an increasing number of file calls.
If anyone has had some luck with combining files of Teline 3 manually information would be handy to know.

October 12, 2009 at 8:51 am #320231The problems of Teline III are:
InfoNumber Of Images – 157
Size Of Images – 1610kb
InfoNumber Of CSS Files – 26
Size Of CSS Files – 89kb
InfoNumber Of Script Files – 13
Size Of Script Files – 240kbAnd, of corse, the performance of the server hosting your website, and all the aditional modules and pluggins (IntenseDebate…) that multiply the number of hosts and…the load time!
I’ll try to split some files this week, and gain some seconds on the load time…i’ll post the results and, if this is good, one tutorial.
EDIT: you can test your website here: http://www.joomlaperformance.com/component/option,com_performance/Itemid,52/
