I would like to apply an background color to the whole part and different colors to the positions themselves.

Also how do I reduce the spaces between the positions so they can touch each other

You can below code in custom.css to apply bg color on spotlight 1 block

    background: #eee;
}

The gap does not showing at my end , could u give me screenshot and page url width gap you want to remove .
