December 16, 2010 at 4:00 pm #157528I have Backed up my site and have loaded files in another site and all databases have been also load, the site look identical to my original site, I have install the new T4 template pack and I am working in getting the look I want, but I have the Original sections or component loading in my categories from the old installation, how can I remove this and have only the new JA News pro take care of the display?
See image sample:

December 17, 2010 at 12:55 pm #367329That is not from the template but from the articles you have published in your Joomla back end. It is sample content. You will need to go into the article manager and remove or unpublish those articles.
Sample content is there for that very purpose, as a sample. If there was no content there alread the new user would really struggle to know where to start. ALL cms packages (Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, C365 etc) prived sample data as do all Joomla template clubs. If you struggle with this there are many books available on Joomla administration and thousands of websites that will go through the principles of Joomla.

December 17, 2010 at 10:31 pm #367401Thank Phill,
This is a test site from my live site that I have moved over to a second server, I do not believe this is sample content, these are actually my sections duplicating in a diferent “component or module” where is that coming from I will have to find out, but I know the content you refer to is not what causing this issue at least to my understanding, I will chaeck anyways to see if I missed anything.
I have a Section named ” Mundo” that section has about 70 articles published, the same artcles are display twice one in the JA NEWS FP and another in a diferent one which I can’t explain myself.
I will keep searching and in the mean time if you find out anything else let me know, that would be very helpful to me.
Thanks.

December 18, 2010 at 6:08 pm #367495Are you building from the quickstart or adding the template etc to yuor existing site?
If tha latter then I suggest you also install the quickstart on your local machine using Wamp (http://www.wampserver.com/en/)
Will be easy for you to then compare settings and may save you lots of debugging in the future.

December 18, 2010 at 7:51 pm #367517Thanks Phill,
That is exactly what I did, I am upgrading a test site from Teline 2 to T4, I did installed a separate package for comparison purposes also.
I n my case I do not know if I should remove all the JA News version of Modules from the site and install new package, which is what I am doing now ( in process ) I will let you know how I do and will post any positive or negative accomplishment I approach during the process.
Thanks again.

December 18, 2010 at 10:28 pm #367529Actually, you are supposed to have several versions of the news-fp module, including one in each of the ja-news-1, ja-news-2 and ja-news-3 positions. You can easily fix the half coloumn under Featured news in the right1 position by setting the parameters like this:
Module class suffix: newsfp
Profile selection: sidebar
Theme selection: sidebarHope this helps.

December 18, 2010 at 11:06 pm #367531Thanks Steinar,
I was thinking the same thing to even the previous QS did not have all this duplicated copies of the JA News Pro module ( only two ) I will keep this on mind for when I get to that part.
I have blank out the site and started over again, loade a copy of my good site and it runs as it should, when I install all the necessary stuff to run Teline IV I set t4 as may default template and I get problems with my menus,Categories and sections, ( if I edit a menu item it actually duplicate itsef, if I create a section it creates a menu item also, if create a Category it creates a submenu for the name of the category menu item, ) unpublishing works but deleting the menu just get them back as published again…going crazy with this one…
Thanks
