My content slider and its content has disappeared.
my banner slideshow has also disappeared
and my category blog layout for my articles has also disappeared and having trouble getting the content back to its default layout.
Could someone please have a look at this in the backend for me?

October 25, 2011 at 2:17 am #421353I am not certain you can just install the new K2 component raw and expect the previous styling (based on the J1.5) version to automatically conform. In addition to the CSS, there are also (likely) images involved that would need to be uploaded to the new template files.
Now, certainly bringing over already written CSS from the previous J1.5 version can certainly save some time … but until such time as the JA Devs update JATC K2 related elements for the new J1.7 compatible K2 – some additional customization effort is going to be required.

October 25, 2011 at 2:24 am #421356Either that or let me see if I can get some kind of general idea as to a roadmap schedule for the Devs to update K2 elements in our J1.7 JATC Templates. Can’t promise anything definitive, but let me see what I can find out.

Thanks.
Last question on this topic; Could you tell me what’s disadvantageous to downgrading to j 1.5?
I love the template and my whole business branding is centered around it so would like to stick with it. Are there any obvious disadvantages to using an older joomla version?

In my opinion – absolutely nothing at this time (and for a good distance into the foreseeable future). The ONLY real “disadvantage” – if you want to call it that – is that when the time comes where you may eventually want (or even need) to update your base/core Joomla version, it will take some additional steps from J1.5 to whichever version you will want to update to at the time – be it J1.7, 2.5 or 3.0.
In the meantime, however, J1.5 is every bit as robust and dynamic as it has been for the last several years – and the fact of the matter is that, at this point in time, there are still far more extensions compatible with J1.5 then there are for J1.7.
Personally, I am of the opinion that you can and will have just as dynamic a website based on J1.5 as you could with J1.7.
