I need to have subtitles on the top level menu items. Is there a simple way to do this or will i need to use a separate menu module such as maxi menu which Joomla.org uses? If i must use a separate menu module, how do i get the module to display in the menu area? I need to keep it simple, so i hope it can be done without using a separate module.
January 18, 2011 at 8:11 pm #372510No one can help with this? surely the JoomlaArt guys can at least tell me how to display the module in the menu area of the template. I know how to do this in other templates but do not see the standard index.php file where i can modify. Somebody help me!!!! please…

January 18, 2011 at 8:43 pm #372514I know that JA has included in new templates the Parameters (JA Extended)
Before that, I have used this format big Title my text subtitle my title
Where the writing in blod is the Main title, and the writing in italic is the subtitle. You may find this article more useful.
I am not sure if this will work on Droid.

Do you need to modify any code? I’m not sure what you want to do – but if yu want to have something like shown below then can’t you just use the description field in the menu manager for each menu item?

January 20, 2011 at 8:33 am #372845dear houndcomp,
normally you should see the “ja extend” params section in admin menu, it lets you enable the subtitle beneath each main menu items. But due to a bug of jat3 plugin, this section did not show. Our devs have just reviewed and had a quick fix for this issue, please download the file “util.php” and replace the old one at pluginssystemjat3coreadminutil.php.
This fix will be rolled into jat3 plugin in the next release, and its recommended for you guys to upgrade. 🙂January 21, 2011 at 11:57 pm #373093Thanks guys, that fixed it.
January 22, 2011 at 12:17 am #373094One other thing, is it possible to have the 2nd level menu items horizontal instead of the vertical dropdown? I do not want the dropdown, when i click on a top level menu item then it shows the 2nd level items underneath that horizontally.

January 22, 2011 at 8:12 am #373137hi,
Its easy, just goto admin > template manager > ja droid > profiles tab and change the Menu option of your current profile to “Dropline”.
Hope that helps:)
