    Hello Guys,

I am building a new website for a travel & tourism company which specializes in wildlife and adventure outings. The current website is a poor one, with everything being in a html page. Its impossible, when you get 50 camps, with 50 different dates.

Anyways, point is, that they would now like to give their campers, tour leaders, the opportunity to upload photographs on the website that would get showcased in that persons profile. We will ofcourse be using CBE for the purpose.

So the idea is that there is 1 gallery for the company to upload official pictures, and the second where the members get a chance to upload their pictures.

Can you suggest me a decent gallery?

    Regards,
    Mihir Chhatre.

Hmm, dpends on how you want to do it. If you want a full blown gallery the coppermine is fantastic. ( http://www.coppermine-gallery.net )

You can see how it I have integrated it into joomla here. ( http://www.windsurf.me.uk/cpg133 )

The problem you will have with that is integrating the images into profiles will take some custom code which you would have to come up with yourself.

There are a couple of galleries for Community Builder and Jomsocial but I have not yet tried them out.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I have already used mehdi-plugin before and know that it rocks when only using default Joomla and bridges perfectly. But when we are planning to make a kind of a huge domain that will house lakhs of pictures, I doubt if i would like to do with a standalone script.

I thought of using Joomgallery, but I am not sure how well it will merge in.

I would like to hear your comments.

    Regards,
    Mihir Chhatre.

    Hi Mihir,
I have used Joomgallery and phocogallery too, they both work out to be great. But when you speak of lakhs of Images, I would suggest to take the development cycle and stability of the component into consideration.
Many have used ZoomGallery in past but it was deserted by the developer later. Not sure which component to suggest, but whatever you settle for, make sure you can depend on it for future updates and releases, coz migrating to other gallery in future with your proposed lakhs of images will certainly drive you crazy.

    regards

    Hey Guys,

Thanks a lot for the replies. I think I will go with Coppermine gallery. I actually want to merge it with the CB but it seems that will be stage 2 for the same.

    Regards,
    Mihir Chhatre.

    Hey Phil,

I was planning to enter the site for this month’s site of the month poll as well, but it doesnt seem possible now.

Too many frequent power cuts has killed how i work. Even my invertor also gave up today, so i am stuck and the work is behind schedule.

Anyways, I will ofcourse be putting the site up anyhow.

    Regards,
    Mihir Chhatre.
