I am converting a wordpress site into a Joomla site.

I created a new site using the Joomlart template. Now that I am ready, I converted the wordpress sql file to a Joomla 1.6 SQL file.

But, when I change the configuration to read the new converted SQL files, teh articles are all there, but the menus and template are gone.

I can certainly reinstall the template, but how do I transfer over the extensions, menus, etc? I somehow assumed that this was all separate from the articles.

    Thanks!

I hope the contents of wordpress can only be imported as articles into joomla. Please provide the sql file you have converted. This will be more helpful for us to suggest you.

I hope when you are importing the converted sql into existing joomla, then sample content of the template you have installed in your site is deleted.

So needed the converted sql file. please attach it.

I fixed it by starting over, using jconvert to convert the wordpress to a Joomla 1.5 installation. Then used J2XML to export from the 1.5 database to a file. Then used J2XML import to import it into a Joomla 1.6 database. It worked great!
