Whenever I clean the cache t3 I lose all changes that were made in the css files, cwhat I can do to prevent this from happening?

Hi,
If you are still in development, then please go to back-end >> Extension >> Template Manager >> Click on your default template
>> In tab global, set Enable Development Mode to yes.
Then edit your style in
templatesyour_template_foldercsstemplate.css
