    Hello,
I stumbled upon this issue too. In the site I’m working on now, the client requires to have a menu link to each product with the starting price as a subtitle. So, the first time I inserted “Ab 20.99 €” in a test product, the whole template was recet by the Euro symbol. (The site is German.) I started to use “Euro” instead of “€” and did all the settings again. (Or at least most of it…)
Now, after the site is ready and I began to import products, all the subtitles I set in the megamenu’s Item caption field, disappear. I’ve read everythink I saw written here, I’ve checked the tables in the database. All were set to utf8_general_ci, only in some tables the “alias” fields were utf8_bin. I’ve edited it. But after I try to set subtitles in the menu items, the result is the same…

@hennysmafter: What do you mean by: “I made changes in the language file for the Item caption and the description. Root/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.plg_system_t3.ini”? I checked this file and resaved it as UTF8 again, although it was UTF8. Do I have to try anything else?

@development team: This feature is really neccessary for my client and I can’t convince him not to use it. I need this fixed and I can provide access to the site, everything you need to check it. Can you, please, give some help? Thanks!

@shumkarov: I think this is not a problem from our product.

About the problem language on your site, you have to check all database and tables and fields to set with utf8_general_ci before processing to install data on your site.

    Hello,
Yes, it is weird indeed! I told you I’ve checked the tables, everything is utf8_general_ci. I can easily reproduce the issue, if you’d like to check I can give you access?

    Hello,
Please, accept my apologies! You were right that another extension was causing the issue. I’m using it to control the display of the menu items. I’ve got support from its developer and the problem was resolved.

Please, excuse me once again! Thanks for the assistance!

@shumkarov, Can you please tell me what extension was causing that issue ?

When i change any menu item, template looses all settings.

I don’t have any & symbol or any odd characters on captions or joomla menus. All tables and files are UTF-8 saved. What can i try more?

    I’m using:

    Joomla 3:4.8
    Purity III: 1.1.5
    T3: 2.5.2

This issue has been address here too, but without solution: https://github.com/t3framework/t3/issues/340

    Thanks and regards!

@ninja Leader: What you have seen is the megamenu broken, not fixed. Have you seen the site before made the change? Or it could already broken, when you visited.
See fixed one now here http://i.imgur.com/3BoTDxU.png or visit now, before make the change here https://www.atec.pt/v3/

    Thanks and regards!
