June 4, 2013 at 10:46 am #187966Hi,
I am interested to know if there is a way to have an html override folder for themes in T3 V3?
In T3 V2, I could create a profile for a page and create overrides for modules for that specific profile, however I can’t seem to find such functionality in V3.
Is it still possible in V3?
Kind Regards,
Drago.

June 4, 2013 at 11:01 pm #494757hello Drago,
T3 v3, use styles and themes instead of profiles, you can override default style in specific menu items.
You can read this help:

June 5, 2013 at 8:22 am #494814Hi Matteo,
Thanks for your reply.
I am aware of how the template and styles overrides work. T3 V3 is very flexible when it comes to css overrides and of course html through the block functionality. However now I am stuck with only one “html override folder” for my template.
Lets say that I have created two themes for my website – one called theme_1 and the second theme_2. Now I want to create an override for the login module for theme_1, lets say that I want it without the password field (just for the examples sake), and I want for theme_2 the login module to be without the username field.
In the T3 V2 case I would create theme_1 and then create the folder “html” for my module overrides, and put the login without password filed override there. I would do the same for theme_2, and put the override without the username field in its own html folder. In the end I could change the structure of a module for every page If I wished to.
Back to the T3 V3 case. I have unlimited freedom in creating different layouts, css overrides, etc. with v3. However sometimes I need to be able to change the structure of a module for a specific page. This was possible in T3 V2 because themes worked differently in v2. They would have their own folder containing all the css, blocks, etc. folders. I always referred to it as mini templates. Now in v3 the themes are created in the less and css folders of a template and for the layout and blocks you go to the tpls folder, which leaves me empty handed if I want and additional “html override folder” for modules. Where do I create it if it is still possible to do it?
I hope I haven’t made the matter more confusing and I was able to explain what I mean.
Kind regards,
Drago.

June 5, 2013 at 10:23 am #494831Hello Drago,
I think at the moment it is not possible to duplicate the login form for two different themes.
You could duplicate the entire template by performing a double installation and within each,
change the login module by inserting it in the templates / ja_blank / html / mod_login /.Finally assign the respective templates to pages.
Maybe someone will have better information than my…
Kind regards

June 5, 2013 at 10:54 am #494841Hi matteo,
Thanks, I figured as much that it won’t be possible as of now, but since you are a member of the development team maybe you can have it in mind for future updates of the t3 framework, if it fits the current design of t3 of course. It was a nifty little feature.
Personally to me themes in v2 made more sense, on how they functioned and I feel they gave more control by being like a “mini template” in their own folder, but I am probably speaking just out of habit.
Nonetheless, thank you for your time and thanks to the team for the t3 framework.
Kind Regards,
Drago.
