Hello –
I’m trying to switch the template for out website ( http://hartness.vsc.edu ) from the T3_blank template to T3_bs3_blank.
The main navigation for the site is a bit more complicated that normal. There are 2 “sides” to the site ( http://hartness.vsc.edu/ccv & http://hartness.vsc.edu/vtc ) with different menus. Everything is actually in one menu sitewide, but each side has a menu module in the mainnav position set to start at level 2 of the menu structure so each of them shows a separate branch of the menu tree.
In the T3_blank template the MegaMenu is turned off (I have “Navigation Style” set to “Joomla Module”). In T3_bs3_blank, this doesn’t seem to be an option. If possible, I would like to use the MegaMenu – I just can’t figure out anyway to make it start at a sublevel.
Any thoughts on either making the MegaMenu start at level 2 (or turning it off and allowing me to use menu modules like I am currently)?

May 4, 2015 at 10:58 pm #569416I thought about trying to create 2 menus that are just aliases to the main menu items and assign those to the Megamenu on the two parts of the site. The test menu seems to work (see http://hartness.vsc.edu/ccv/about) but when I try to pull it up in the Megamenu configuration I don’t see any menu items there. The main menu and a hidden testing menu both show up in the Megamenu configuration properly. Any idea what would make one menu not show up properly in the Megamenu configuration while others work?

Yes, as I mentioned in previous reply. The concept (which mean both the idea and code structure) between these templates are different. So even you managed to change the layout, the configuration in back-end won’t work.</blockquote>
hmm.. – I’m not sure you understand what I’m asking.
The menu that’s not showing up in the configuration is just a normal menu created with the Joomla menu editor – I haven’t done anything additional to it and I haven’t done any template tweaking beyond front-end CSS stuff.
I can select the new menu on the navigation tab of the template editor and it will show up fine on the pages that I assign the template to (including the one I linked to above), but none of the menu items show up on the Megamenu configuration when that menu is selected. If I select another menu in the configuration, menu items show up.
Leaving aside the overall site structure, why would one menu show up in the Megamenu configuration but not another? (I thought it might be related to the fact that that menu is entirely composed of the “Menu Item Alias” item type, but adding in some other types of menu items didn’t help.)
