June 17, 2013 at 9:32 pm #188292I am using Joomla 3.1.1 and wanted to check if any of the current Joomlart modules will be updated to allow selection by TAGS as well as (currently) categories?
I aim to have a minimum number of categories as tags are more flexible but it would restrict the use of Joomlart modules until a Tag option was included.

June 18, 2013 at 3:53 am #496120Hi dealthenuts,
Currently, there is no module have option to allow selection by TAGS like that, will pass this to dev team for further consideration.
Thank you for lining this up.

June 18, 2013 at 1:18 pm #496170Thank you for the reply Saguaros, one further question I forgot to ask, I am using JA Mitius and EasyBlog/EasyDiscuss/Komento (no requirement for K2 anymore) with all articles going through EasyBlog for the site, so I only have categories set up in EB/ED (not Joomla).
I can use Slideshow Lite and Slideshow modules as the EasyBlog images are automatically added to the Joomla media manager, but the other Joomlart Modules only allow selection of Joomla or K2 categories (unless I missed something).
Would it be possible to include EasyBlog categories as a selection option as well?
My preference sequence would be EasyBlog category selection first, then Tags later on.

June 23, 2013 at 8:10 am #496593I’m afraid this is impossible for me to confirm that since our JA extensions are provided to support default feature of Joomla first and most common used ext like K2. It’s hard to make it be adapt with every specific 3rd party extension. You can hire a developer to get it done for you. Hope you understand us.

June 23, 2013 at 9:58 am #496599I understand and appreciate the situation.
I reviewed/altered our website structure and there is a possible Joomla driven solution that would allow a wider use of Joomlart modules.
We use EasyBlog for all articles and they are shown through menus using the EasyBlog Menu Selection Options (integrated with Joomla core menu selections, similar to article selection options but more), for example “Article list in Category”, “Single Article”, “Features articles from 1 or more categories”, “Single Tag article list”.
If the Joomlart modules could show articles from a menu (as well as the current Joomla/K2 categories) it would solve the problem without a requirement to include TAGS or integrate with EasyBlog.
The 3 key modules would be Content Pop, Sidenews and Accordion.
It seems a natural development for the modules to show articles from a menu, would this be a possible option?

July 9, 2013 at 2:55 pm #498429Hi
I’m afraid that currently these above modules don’t have selection option for menu like that. Since your need is specific so I think you should consider to hire a developer to get it done for you. Sorry for not be of much help here.
