Hi,

I joined the extension club and installed JA Compress, but when I enabled the module it broke the site CSS template. If I click “No” to “Optimize CSS files” the site comes up OK, but my “ySlow” score remains an E.

Is there a way I can still Optimize the CSS files with JA Compress to speed up the site?

And, more generally, are there other ways to speed up the site? I find it a bit odd that the site stays blank for 10-15 seconds before anything else loads. What can be done to have at least have something appear within the first 5 seconds?

Hi Dustin,

JA Compress has option to deselect multiple CSS files. You can use the same to exclude the CSS files which are breaking the site. Well, its a trial and check method, but it does has the option. So activate your CSS optimization and then try deselecting the CSS files one by one in the Exclude CSS Files Option.
