I have the same problem of Jomsocial not showing up with Teline III v2. I have looked and not been able to find the correct php file to modify as instructed above.Please let us know where we can go to solve this problem.

Dear h2nation,

If your template is the Teline III v2 you can try as following
Open the file of templates/ja_teline_iii_v2/css/template.css,look for the css
.frontpage #ja-content-main {
display: none;
}

And change it to
.frontpage #ja-content-main {
display: block;
}
