Dear All,
Currently working with Teline III for a demo site.
1.The template is running very slow, front page too slow for anyone to wait.
2. Welcome to the Frontpage is back after being removed from the main menu article.
3. The JA News is displaying as two column and is set to one.
4 The main menu repeats itself on both rows.

Does anyone have a successful live version of this template to preview?

Any recommendations on a fast templat that can incorporate these nice new feature for video, photo, forum, RSS feed, newsletter would be appreciated. Thanks Bill:)

I’ve tested my site along with yours:
1 http://www.as-newmedia.com/sids/ 68.67 KB 13.39 seconds 0.19 seconds
2 http://www.cugp.com.ua/ 100.75 KB 2.16 seconds 0.02 seconds

So, it’s really some server problems. Also I use caching, don’t use JA News.

As regards “Welcome to the front page” – you can change it in Main Menu section (back-end), option Page Title of the Home link.

gray what caching system are you using? do you have both plugin and system cache enabled?

Only system (30 minutes). I haven’t used plugin cache and not sure if it’s necessary to use both.

Under global configuration/server settings turn on GZip page compression, also I’d look at purging expired cache cache and clearing cache as well from the tools menu

Then retest and see if there’s a difference

I’ve turned on the GZip compression, but the loading time remained approximately the same as without it.
Maybe it depends on the hosting, but I remained with system cache turned on only.

I’ve tested more carefully the speed with GZip off and on.using http://host-tracker.com/ service

Gzip OFF:
Received responses: 68 Ok Response time: 1.69 sec 59.46 KB/sec
Gzip ON:
Received responses: 69 Ok Response time: 2.30 sec 43.59 KB/sec

So, my conclusion is that GZip is not effective for my site.

That’s because your server probably is not strong enough. Try cache.

I were testing the same content on the same server with the Teline III and Barite templates.

It looks like Teline III v2 is 12 times slower.

This is dedicated server which is fast performing machine, it looks like Teline III has some performance problems.
