March 10, 2010 at 3:45 pm #335639Dear VisiGod,
It would be difficult to say that at this moment. Its the framework update. However, chances are bright that with the release of new download / versioning system, it might be possible to pin out the changed files. But as on today, you will have to use 3rd party softwares such as WinMerge to compare the two versions to find out the changed files.
regards
Arvind

March 13, 2010 at 3:49 pm #336107Excuse me, can you provide to us only modificated files from last update, because i have made change in more then 30 files in Ja Teline III. If I reinstall Ja Teline III, it will take much time to compare and make same modification. Maybe, i can’t do same modification, because its very difficulty.

March 22, 2010 at 3:27 pm #337248Is there any reason why method=”upgrade” isn’t included in the install= statement in the .xml manifest of all updated extensions / templates?
example – from plg_jausersetting.xml
<install version="1.5" type="plugin" group="system" >
to
<install version="1.5" type="plugin" group="system" method="upgrade">That would make all these updates a lot easier…

You can update only changed/new files of the template and extensions you use (comparision is make with version 1.4).
Still remember to keep back-ups of any replaced files. And if you have applied hacks in the files which are updated in 1.4.1, you should re-apply them back.

Yes, if you overwrite all files updated in 1.4.1 and copy the new ones, with weren’t in 1.4.1 you would get an updated version. Don’t forget about hacks, if any, which have to be re-applied in 1.4.1 updated/new files.
Also look at the new Download/Compare system which is rather helpful.
