I have been trying to install the Quickstate for Teline IV for Joomla 1.5. I can make it to the end of the install and enter the database information and everything, but I get an error on the last page of the installation where it says to delete the installation folder. The error says “Warning: file_put_contents(D:hosting3110005htmlTriCountyconfiguration.php) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:hosting3110005htmlTriCountyinstallationinstallermodelsmodel.php on line 850”

After this, if I delete the installation folder and try to access the site, I get a different error that says, “No configuration file found and no installation code available. Exiting…”

    Please advise.

Personally I’d recommend using the Joomla 2.5 template as Joomla 1.5 is no longer supported by Joomla.

Your problem sounds like the install is not building the configuration.php file, so you’ll need to build your own. I know on 2.5 joomla gives you the code at the end of the install process (with the delete installation folder warning) so copy that text and make your own file using an editor like smultron or notepad+ then ftp it up to the joomla root. That should solve your problem but again I think you’d be better off using the latest Joomla 2.5 and latest Teline in 2.5.

    Hope that helps

I actually started out using the 2.5 version but I had issues as well. With the 2.5 version the problem occurs after the main configuration page of the installation. I install the sample data and enter my admin email and passwords. Then when I click next that little spinning circle graphic thing pops up and the install never finishes. It just sits there spinning. If I hit refresh or try to access the site I am brought back to the first page of the installation.

It sounds like a permissions problem with the hosting – hence why it can’t save the configuration.php. I think you need to speak to them to get it checked out because it could be down to a number of things. And then stick with 2.5 🙂

Wish you the best with it!

Just out of curiosity I changed all the directories where this is being installed to permission setting 777. Still encountered the same error. This is on a typical Ultimate Hosting Plan through GoDaddy. Does anyone have some suggestions?

I’ve heard so many stories with Godaddy that I wouldn’t know what to believe there!

I never use 777 as it shouldn’t ever be necessary – it’s a sign something else is wrong. I know I helped out someone here locally who was having similar problems (albeit not with GD) and it turn out to be a permissions problem caused by not having the right php applied. To do with the fastcgi files, having to hack the .htaccess before the install finished and then we could update the local cgi files.

Looking at the godaddy forum (from a quick google) there seems to be a few problems like this already listed /solved. Might be worth a look there too?

Maybe someone else here can jump in with a more useful suggestion.

Hope you get the problem solved quickly.

Ok, I was able to get it installed, you can see it at: http://wwecofest.com/TricountyTEST/

There is still something going on as you can see from the errors being displayed. I was able to get it installed by creating a blank configuration.php BEFORE installing the quickstart, then AFTER the install, i filled in the configuration.php from the -dist.

Can anyone tell me how to resolve the errors that are displaying?

    Thanks so much!!

Still sounds like a permissions problem!!

You can check the directories (and they should all be green) in mydomain.com /administrator/index.php?option=com_admin&view=sysinfo

It could be that within configuration.php the paths are not set correctly and this JFolder::create: Could not create directory error occurs a lot if the tmp path is wrong. You can set them to ./logs and ./tmp if you want to. You might also want to check that configuration.php is set to 644 permissions too – if it is 444 then you may have some problems in build.

    Hope that helps
