Since updating from Joomla 3.2.3 to Joomla 3.4.1 the site has become mega slow. http://news-sgi.globalprintmonitor.org/

Also I was told to update System – JA Tabs plugin from 2.6.5 to 2.6.6 which I duly did via JA Extension Manager but it seems not to have succeeded ??

    Hello
As u know page speed depends on several factor
    external javascripts+external css
    + internal css +js minify .
+images size (more images increase load time)
    +your server configuration
    + site caching (static+dynamic)

Here are some useful tips that can help you .
    1. Enabled js and css compression from template options .
    2. http://www.joomlart.com/tutorials/joomla-tutorials/10-tips-to-improve-joomla-site-performance
    3. http://www.joomlart.com/blog/news-updates/tools-and-tips-to-check-joomla-site-speed-and-improve-performance
    4. http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/joomla/joomla-speed.htm
While i tested your site on Tools.pindom seems the speed is normal Check it here

I’m not sure what you did but page rendering is broken.
Click on any item in JA NewsPro on homepage. Scroll down (quickly 🙂

    e.g. http://news-sgi.globalprintmonitor.org/en/news/industry-news/digital-printing/28349-imprimex-expands-its-folding-carton-and-label-offerings-with-new-xeikon-3050-digital-press

OK, I tried your first suggestion – Optimise CSS and JS in Template (which I normally set to ON when finished with Inspect Element CSS customizing), but must have forgotten.

The site CSS and maybe JS is all screwed up and won’t revert when I turn both to OFF again.

UPDATE: However, site looks OK on Android browser (Nexus 7) but the date displayed (top left) reverts on Home page to the date (04/27/2015) just before I did the 323 to 341 update ?? Click on a Featured article and the date is later. ?? I’m lost.

I have restored the site from an Akeeba backup done just before the Joomla 3.2.3 to Joomla 3.4.1 upgrade. Now it seems OK despite db warnings that I don’t understand and many JA extensions that are out of date. But now, on Android tablet the site defaults to Plesk/Parallels welcome page 🙁

    http://news-sgi.globalprintmonitor.org/

I have left Optimise both JS & CSS at OFF in template settings.

I have managed somehow to restore a backup of the pre Joomla 341 upgrade site except that clicking on the logo sends one to Plesk 🙂 The /en is missing – add it manually and you get to the site – http://news-sgi.globalprintmonitor.org/ How to fix? This site was derived from http://globalprintmonitor.info which now runs on Joomla 3.4.1.
