Hi,
my website http://www.houemiton.net is very slow. I’ve tried every optimization tip possible. It’s a lot better than what it used to, but still slow.
And also, every once in a while, the homepage does not load itself entirely, and just stops (see screenshot), and then, the menu doesn’t work, and the JA News FP module is not sliding.
Thanks in advance,
Armand

April 13, 2011 at 8:53 am #386104It takes time to compress and merge a css and js file whenever you visit a page on first time.
But these compressed files will be cached, so the it will be loaded faster on next times.

April 13, 2011 at 10:44 am #386150My site remains slow. I try to deactivate all the compretions but it still takes 15 sec to start to load. When I activate the comprasions and caches OK it will load next times from cache but it still is so slow.
My server is ok. I have so many joomla site. I try other template and it load it with high speed.
April 14, 2011 at 6:46 am #386294I have the same problem. We have over 100 Joomla sites on our server, and everyone works fine – except Teline IV. Very poor performance.
When I disabled optimization of CSS and JS, I increased performance for about 4 seconds.

April 29, 2011 at 1:18 pm #389011i think its funny that the guys from joomlart always say the speed of the templates are fine, even when a lot of users are complaining about the speed. Instead of taking action to improve the speed, they are blaming the server… the provider, but the problem is the template, especially this one… it is very slow… it takes way to long to load, no matter what i do… its a nice template … looks great … but it is simple not for a live site…

April 29, 2011 at 4:30 pm #389038I am having the exact same problem. My site http://www.chameleonews.com loads incredibly slow. And it’s hosted by hostgator, which I hear has absolutely no problems whatsoever. So it should be because of Joomla.
I didn’t do any optimization stuff, can anyone let me know how ?
I would really appreciate it.
Thank youApril 29, 2011 at 5:17 pm #389047Same problem here. I disabled css and js optimizations from template, Firebug qualifies a load speed of 67/100. Put back optimizations, Firebug says 67/100. So optimizations from template are not working. Some time ago it was 84/100. In the meantime, I have upgraded the template. Suddenly it came down to 67/100.

May 8, 2011 at 11:47 am #390292Try going through some of the css files and removing some unused css code and images. I just finished going through my files along with optimizing some of the images and it has really made the site faster. I also have gzip enabled and join minify compress. You can check it out http://discovertheberkshires.com. I went from a 16 sec pagload down to a 7-8 second according to pingdom. Also, my pagescore hovers around 80.
May 15, 2011 at 4:48 am #391283Try using a subdomain for all the images, for this though you would have to modify core teline template files but it will reduce the time because i have seen in firebug that most of the time there is a lag in requests and the images are waiting to be loaded. So you can minimize the wait time by using sub domains for images. You can have a view of my site at:

I do not agree with this statement at all . . . especially considering the fact that MANY big-name retailer websites take several seconds (sometimes up to 10) to fully load display – and they don’t seem to be suffering too badly from customer loyalty and return. The actual important issue is the content you provide … as THAT is what is going to interest people and keep them coming back, not a few additional seconds of loading time.1 user says Thank You to TomC for this useful post
July 3, 2011 at 8:09 pm #399705i have solved this problem and now my frontpage has 93 /100 in pagespeed.
all I had to do was using google to find every issue that was not green in pagespeed.
in the end all i have done was putting some text (copy – paste from websites) in htaccess.
i have attached htaccess for you.
a big problem for fast loading the page is the size of images in that page. get a thumbnail creator and modules that knows to thumbnail the images.
