Hello,
We have an installation of Teline V using ACM Module to display featured news, category list, and also using Mega Menu. Our site is live here: http://www.aviacol.net
We’re having a big issue with image size, image display and resizing.
All of the images being used in the site are being resized with CSS, which is nice. However, that means our site is full of 800px wide images that sometimes are resized (using CSS) and displayed as 300px or less. That’s causing our webpage to be very heavy, and this is not good regarding SEO and page speed. We even tried mod_pagespeed but it did not help much.
If you take a look at the Mega Menu, all of those tiny images are really being loaded as much bigger images, which is unnecessary for the size they are being displayed.
If you look at our main featured news, for some reason, ACM is loading the small version of our images and making them bigger, which has awful results, as you may see. We did not find a way to get the module to load the big version.
This image handling of Teline V and ACM module makes your template and modules very SEO unfriendly, and result in huge content sizes (which may be penalized by Google and, of course, downgrades usability).
Do you plan to fix this, as it is a very important issue? Or is there something we’re missing and not doing right?
We’re loading 2 different images to our Joomla content, the small version in "Intro Image" and the big version in "Full Image". Your template is loading big images when they are needed small, and loading the small versions when they are going to be displayed in bigger sizes. It does not make sense.
Thanks.
