I am new to Joomla and would like to make some alterations to the css file and html files but they are coming up as unwriteable. I went through Joomxplorer to change the permissions and it keeps telling me that permissions it failed. Can anyone help me with this. The template I am using is ja_avior-ex.

This is not a template issue. It’s a file system permissions issue. Change the permissions on the files. I would need more info about your environment to tell you how to do it.

If you have access to cpanel you can do it through file manager. Or use SSH and chmod the files. Post your environment info and I will try to help.
