    Hi,

Template manager > Layouts > Edit

After making an edit in the pop-up window, I click ‘Save’ and the little ‘Save’ icon just spins in a circle and never stops.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hi wolfix,

I guess there are some JavaScript errors in Your backend. Could You please try with different browser.

It is almost certainly a permissions problem. Please make sure all the filders in your templates directory are writable by the script.

    Hi Phill…

Just to make sure… I ran the following again:

    [root@v1 sites]# chown -R webadmin:apache spinnakerdestin.com
    [root@v1 sites]# chmod -R 774 spinnakerdestin.com

    Still have the same problem…

    Thanks!

    Hi wolfix,

why did You use CHMOD 774?

Files should be 644 and folders 755.

Hello, I have the same issue. When I click the main Save button, or click the Layout Save button, the changes ARE saved, but the spinner never goes away. No JS errors or PHP errors.
    Joomla 1.7.0
JAT3 Plugin 1.3.2 downloaded and installed yesterday.
JAT3 Blank 1.0.6 downloaded and installed yesterday.

    As we said previously:

    1. Make sure all files and folders of the template and the plugin are writable
    2. Make sure there are no JS errors

So in Your case capitalweb – are You sure about the permissions?

I checked for js errors on the admin page and there were none. All files and folders too are writable, but I the save button still spins forever.

Hi I have exactly the same issue, I update a layout go to save and the save button gets stuck in the process of saving. If after a while I close the page, the changes have been made, but not if you close it immediately…anyhow it’s not correct.
Permissions are ok for files and folders (644 – 755) and I have no javascript errors on page. Tested on latest versions of firefox, chrome, safari.
    Many thanks for the help.

Which files and folders are OK? Check your params.ini file in your templates folder for instance. The script needs to write to that. There may also be a local directory in there too and that and the files inside also need to be writable.

Hi, the param.ini file is writeable 644 as all the files in the ja_t3_blank folder, I even changed it to 777 and it didn’t change. All files are 644 and all folders are 755. Any other possible causes?
    many thanks
