It would be very nice if Joomlart could provide a map or diagram of the templates. The forum doesn’t seem to contain many solutions that come from the users. If the forums don’t give users enough infromation then we need more online documentation.
I am only familiar with basic CSS and am unable to find a way to get a simple clear portal background a little like the one that sits behind this page.
Thank you for answering my posts, but the information didn’t relate 100% to what I asked. I am running against a deadline and it is frustrating when there are not simple “how to” type documents available.
I have used other templates and they usually have one simple background url image. This templates appears to a novice like me that the background is quite complicated to change.
I chose joomlart templates becuase they looked simple. If I can’t find out how to get rid of the 5 background bands then I will have to forget about it. I have lost far too many hours removing code and trying to accidently find what might work. Not enough documentation. A pity. I will have to use a different template provider.

October 4, 2006 at 5:01 am #210777Hi Mark,
Have you walked throught the userguide in the download area?October 4, 2006 at 7:57 am #210781Yes I have and nothing mentions how to remove the background elements. The user info only covers what is standard, but does not deal with changing design elements. It would be nice if future templates come with ‘fancy’ backgrounds as an option rather than standard. But then that’s just my opinion. I like design to be simple and functional.
After many hours removing parts of the CSS I have managed to get a clean background (unfortunately without the dropped shadow, but I have used a darker grey. The shadow for the header is in the gif or so it seems, so removing the gif takes it away.) . It was not easy (if you don’t know how). There are quite a few places where the code needs to be changed. There is not one simple background tag that can be uncommented. If anyone has this problem, let me know and I’ll help. No guarantees that I have done it in the right way though! It may be difficult to edit any unofficial gif or jpegs as these seem to be locked. It suits my purpose now and I’m happy with it.

Hi Mark,I read with interest your post as I am in a similar situation as you describe.
Since I don’t see any posts after your last message — did you get things working finally as you wished? Did you get any more tips or suggestions on how to to modify Joomlart’s templates?
Best regards,
Christer
