Hi there I have a stupid question here…

i want to change the template name for a site from like ja_teline to default

so when the url shows it’ll be mysite.com/default/images/abc.jpg instead of mystie.com/ja_teline/images/abc.jpg

may i know how to do that and what files i need to change?

    Thanks:-*

When I am right, you only have to rename the folder where ja-Teline is in to “default” for example.

    Kind Regards,

Hmmm…IĀ“ve tried this with no luck. Can anyone help me with changing the name of a template? IĀ“ve managed to do it before, but somehow JA templates seem a bit more difficult to rename.

Has anyone managed to rename a JA template?

    Thanks in advance!

Which template are you trying to change name on?

IĀ“m trying to rename the JA_Larix template. I also tried to rename the JA Genista template some time ago, but no luck with either of them.

Which version of Joomla are you using?

OK this is how I do it

    I use JoomlaXplorer.

I make a copy of the template that I need to rename…in your case I would highlight the JA_Larix template then press copy you are then given an option of what to call it…this is where you rename it to suit. I will call mine Dummy

If you go to your template manager you will see the name has changed.

Now go to the index php file and change the name of the template

    $ja_template_name = ‘Dummy’;

Now go to the templateDetails.xml and change the name there

    <name>Dummy</name>

    All should now be ok

IĀ“ve tried that, but unfortunately IĀ“m left with a blank page with a single line saying
CanĀ“t find style sheet: ja_larix (or something similar to that)

I am 100% sure IĀ“ve followed your directions. What can be wrong? I really appreciate your will to help, I canĀ“t thank you enough!

Edit: By the way…perhaps I should try JoomlaXplorer first. ThatĀ“s the only thing I havenĀ“t tried.

Yes I got a blank page when I edited the original.

Download and install JoomlaXplorer component first.

Open JoomlaXplorer this will take you to your directory click on templates put a tick in the box of the template you need to copy and then follow earlier instructions.

    Hope this helps šŸ˜‰
