January 25, 2016 at 9:00 am #867579Hello, I installed this theme along with the various extension in an existing site (copied locally for testing purpose), update it from joomla 3.1.5 to the latest 3.3.x and then 3.4.8. Some parts of the template are not being rendered, for instance on the blog layout the title is missing. To track down the problem I modified the render method into libraries/cms/layout/file.php to show debug info when the template is not found and it give me the following:
Layout: joomla.content.item_title Include Paths: Array ( [0] => C:\lavoro\websites\placement\templates/ja_biz/html/layouts/com_content [1] => C:\lavoro\websites\placement/components/com_content/layouts [2] => C:\lavoro\websites\placement\templates/ja_biz/html/layouts [3] => C:\lavoro\websites\placement/layouts ) Searching layout for: joomla/content/item_title.php
I can see at least 2 item_title.php one into plugins/system/t3/base/html/layouts/joomla/content and one into plugins/system/t3/base-bs3/html/layouts/joomla/content but none of them is in the search path. I reinstalled both the theme and the t3 framework but nothing changed. Hope you can help me to fix this problem.
Angelo

Please edit the thread (first post), choose Require Help From Staff + Mod/Admin? then provide your site url with temporary admin account there so I can check this matter for you.

January 27, 2016 at 7:31 am #869461Hi @unimarconi,
Unfortunately, it’s hard to investigate the problem just by reading the description. For this matter I will need to have a look at the real site to track down the cause of the problem. Is it possible that you temporary upload your site somewhere so I can check ?

January 27, 2016 at 4:08 pm #869944That would be difficult…
I installed the demo site (which is working) and found that there is one class JLayoutFile into
plugins/system/t3/includes/joomla25/layout/file.php
which get called instead of the standard one
libraries/cms/layout/file.php
if I rename the file I got the same result on both sites. So I guess the problem is with my site not calling the right file, can’t say why. I checked the T3 plugin and is active. Hope this info could be of help.
Thanks Angelo

January 28, 2016 at 10:04 am #870460Hi Adam, yes I noticed the mixed use of slashes and backslashes on file paths but is the same with the demo site which works. The test machine has windows 7 with bitnami wampstack 5.5.30, I have tried different templates in the past like Uber or Charity and had no problems.

January 29, 2016 at 3:16 am #871079Hi @unimarconi,
Ok in this case, the only option that I can suggest you is to update your template / T3 framework to latest version via JA Extension Manager component first, then recheck.
If it doesn’t solve the problem, try navigate to that menu item in backend >>> change the template style to Protostar to see if the title appear or not.

January 29, 2016 at 9:48 am #871366Hi Adam, I installed the latest version of the template and uninstalled and reinstalled T3 framework, I also tried changing theme from Ja Biz to Uber titles are still missing. Protostar is working. It seems a problem with this specific installation; I run winmerge to compare the demo site with my site and saw no difference on php files besides different plugins/modules installed between the two.

February 1, 2016 at 8:52 am #873211Hi @unimarconi,
May I know which PHP version are you using in localhost ? In addition, there are several reports about strange problem happend when using Joomla! with WAMP. In official website, Joomla! also recommend that you should use XAMPP for local testing instead.

February 1, 2016 at 9:35 am #873308Hello Adam, I installed apache from XAMPP, keeping MySQL from WAMP and copied the virtual host configuration, same result 🙁 I will move everything into a virtualbox running linux but I’m pretty sure nothing will change.

February 2, 2016 at 7:45 am #874115Hi @unimarconi,
In this case, try setup another installation with fresh Joomla! 3.4.8 in your localhost, install T3 System Plugin and template then check to see if you still unable to see some parts of the site.

February 2, 2016 at 11:08 am #874266Hi Adam, in one of my previous post I wrote that I installed locally your demo site and it’s working. So it must be something related to the upgrade from Joomla 3.1.5 or some interaction with other modules or plugins (Fabrik, Chronoform, JEvents plus the one which comes with your templates). Also as I wrote before I used winmerge to check for differences between the demo site and my site and nothing emerged besides the different extensions.
