I have tried via 2 ways to update the template – the normal Joomla backend way has an error and the specialised Joomlart component for doing updates also has errors.

    Hi
JA Extension only updated via JA Extension manager component. You have to add your JA Account username/password in JA Extension manager > Service area > Joomlart tupdates . Set the updates as default and then try to update template .

Ok I managed after some time to work out how this convoluted system works. I dont like it. Theres some feedback for your marketing team.
However I am now looking at UBER and my own ‘branch’ which was a saved version.
Should I also update this – I thought the whole point to make the duplicate was to avoid this situation.

I tried to use the check updates on my branch ba but it doesnt work it only worked on the uber one.

Either you tell people to use overrides or you tell people not to update a copy of UBER but telling us to do both is confusing.

Can someone help clear things up.

    Thank you

    Hi
You can save your custom changes and then update the template to Latest version.
About the ba template , sorry we do not have any template with name ba , if its custom template you have to update it manually by checking the files and replace the codes .

    Hi
we do not recommend to rename templates. After rename template, it will no longer appear under JA Products and not updated via JA Extension manager.
I suggest you use JA Uber that you have on the site. You can compare both JA Uber current version and new version by click on compare button: http://prntscr.com/dk477p

In your videos you have suggested to make a clone of the template !

You are in need to document this better I feel. It was not clear to a seasoned joomla user let alone a new commer.

Now I no longer have access to the link in the screen shot – can you tell me what the update was ? Was it for security ? Is there a github repo or something you use ?

Ok I did a roll back and then was able to go through the update which was just css. Shame I cant easily now get these changes into my template.

As a suggestion I ask that you remove the misleading video telling people to make a clone of the template if this is not easily able to be updated.

If I need to update the bs template I think I will need to simply overwrite the less folder. As there were no security changes I might wait for the next one however and these changes seemed to be to support 3rd party stuff.

    Hi
can u provide me link where its suggested to rename the template?
You have to update the JA Uber template first and then you can duplicate it to your name again, or you have to make update manually.
