March 8, 2011 at 10:11 pm #161185what am I missing? I setup T4 quickstart on j1.5 development site. No problem. Everything working fine.
Then I added the template only (i.e. not quickstart) to a live site that has an existing ja_events template. I have megamenu setup and working no problem with ja_events.
BUT when I assign Teline IV to a page the “Social Menu” does not appear even though I have it setup identically to the Quickstart. I think the key is that I don’t understand why the “topmega” menu is assigned to the LEFT module position but I have done this. And the Follow Us etc are assigned to the proper Separator>Mega modules.
Please advise?
thanks

March 9, 2011 at 4:43 am #3804351) you try to follow guide about how to configure modules dispalying inside the topmega http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-teline-iv-userguide/
2) you access the administrator system and create a group named “topmega”, please refer to my snapshot. When create a list menu items like as demo did
Thanks

March 9, 2011 at 7:04 pm #380554hi tienhc,
Not sure what you mean by “group” Where exactly would I create this group? In the menu manager the topmega is exactly as in your snapshot.

March 9, 2011 at 7:12 pm #380559Teline IV is a complicated beast to setup. What I would suggest is this, install a quickstart on your localhost using a tool such as Wamp or Xampp then compare fully the settings from that quickstart and the live site you are working on. If that fails then please raise a ticket including an admin logon so the team can take a look and if required apply the correct settings.

March 9, 2011 at 10:53 pm #380602Phil, I’ve done what you said. See my first post. What I really want here is not a fix but understanding. I don’t want someone to fix it for me but to understand what I’m missing so I don’t have to waste hours trying to figure it out for this or some related issue in the future.
I’ve viewed the tutorial videos. I’ve read the Teline IV setup/User Guide. I fully understand how to setup modules in the megamenu. That is not my question. I’m trying to understand why in the Module Manager, is the topmega menu (module) as defined in the menu manager, published in the left position in the quickstart and how/why it displays in the mainnav / topmega position? i.e. the topmega is NOT published as a module into the magazine menu (default on quickstart) but rather a separate module/menu that publishes to the right on the page of the magazine menu.
Thank you

March 15, 2011 at 3:21 am #381356The topmega position is part of the template, it is not called via any module on this position. the JA template includes a php and html code to render list of menu item from the topmega menu and this poisition is aligned on the right slider of the main menu. So that you only create a group as i guided and then create a list of menu item calling modules like as the demo did.

March 22, 2011 at 3:08 am #382603so your answer via email today is quoted below. And to clarify, by “group” you are actually mean “Menu” is that right?
If that is the case, I already have a menu called topmega. in that menu are two menu items: “Login” “Twitter” Originally I had “Blog” “Interview” “Twitter” “RSS” as per the Quickstart with “Latest Comments” and “Login” as second level menu items under “Blog”
So (I think) this answers my question regarding your use of the word “group” however still does not resolve my problem with the topmega not appearing as you say as part of the template. It just does not show for me. I compared the topmega.php from the quickstart to the non quickstart and they are identical. Is there somewhere else I should look in the template for where this is called?
