July 15, 2008 at 8:52 pm #259988no, it doesn’t make much sense to do it. The site is already a fixed pixel width, with the wide setting set at 1024px
so you want to have a fixed width of more than 1024?
July 15, 2008 at 9:59 pm #260000maybe i need to 1280px 🙂

July 15, 2008 at 10:21 pm #260004the problem with 1280 is that most people use 1024, so, the vast majority if your site visitors will get scroll bars, and scroll bars are a big NO NO in websdesign.
July 15, 2008 at 10:32 pm #260007so any idea for me take stretch my content, it’s small

July 16, 2008 at 8:28 pm #260316thats the problem with changing the width, there are to many pieces that need to be changed with in all of the template files and you will be chasing down issues for ever.
Did you try setting your template for “wide”?
Here is mine set to “wide” 1024px and it fills my screen which is the average width of monitors out there in cyberland -> 1024px
the vast majority of users do not have wide screen monitors, so what your seeing is not what your visitors will be seeing.
Your width setting in your screenshot puts the image off of my screen and adds scroll bars. That is not good for design and site usability.
I know you can take my advice or not, but I’m a member of many forums and this is the general consensus amongst people in the design world. Build for the majority, not the few.
