May 24, 2010 at 8:26 pm #151294Template Will not install
Hi all, firstly, i am not a new user of joomla and your templates.
I have downloaded the new JA Norite theme, as normal I have uploaded the template using the standard method. My joomla websites will not accept the template. The page goes blank white, while uploading. I have then also uploaded the template manually using an FTP and when i select the template and go into edit the settings, there are several errors on the admin including JFolder::files: Path is not a folder?Other joomla templates work on this install, is there something wrong with the current download?
Keep up the great work.
Paul

May 25, 2010 at 12:31 am #344588Sometimes errors do happen.
My advice is:
1- Check that the SIZE of the file you are downloading is equal to the size of the file DOWLOADED.
2- Make sure you have Deleted all previous installations of the template before installing the fresh one.
3- If the problem still persist, contact JA via their Ticket Support menu (which is on the top right hand side of this page.)
Good luck.

May 25, 2010 at 2:50 pm #344678Ok… already sent you some recommendations but I’ll make them here for documentation purposes 🙂
Norite is a pretty heavy template and it seems that its installation could be going past some default php server settings.
I have recommended pdfx (Paul) to check two values inside his server’s php.ini file:
max_upload_size: usually set to 2MB but it could be set to 1. This would cause the server to install small templates but not big and heavy ones.
max_execution_time: usually set to 30 seconds. It seems that uploading Norite is taking more than 30 seconds. Changing this setting to 1 minute (60 seconds) would give the server enough time to process the 1.8/1.9 MB template upload and install.Oh.. BTW.. remember to restart the httpd service 😉
Now, lets see if this fixes the problem. 🙂
Peace,

May 26, 2010 at 5:29 pm #344815Ok thanks for all your help
I changed the settings in the PHP.ini file to 120 seconds and uploaded a file in my root directory and the admin directory to be safe.
LINE 232
max_execution_time = 120 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 120 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 32M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (32MB)The Third line one about the file size was not the problem so i never changed it, i was uploading templates that were 2.3mb and installed fine.
Thanks again Paul!!
Keep up the good work!!!!!
