Templates can be optimized for quicker loading times.

An important factor is what YOU want for your site – display/layout/feature wise.

I recommend looking through JoomlART’s TEMPLATE LIBRARY for a template (or several) you may like – and then you can ask some more specific template-related questions if you wish.

Rule of thumb is more graphics equal more loading times but there are always optimizations that you can do.
