I keep waiting, wishing and wanting for you folk to release a template with more module positions available. I think the most I have seen is ten, in only 1 template. Something akin to Joomlashack’s Simplicity or Rocketheme’s Versatility have 13-15, offering MUCH more flexibility, particularly in the footer and lower portions of the template, for menus, ads and side text. Tell me that this is in the works and I’ll renew my subscription tomorrow. Your designs are better than these other named providers. Rectify this deficiency and you have all the bases covered.

    Hi mattstahl,
Even we have not added many module positions to our template, but when users ask to add more module to a particular template, we often give some suggestion how to add.

I was just broaching some constructive criticism and trying to point out a gap in your product line. If the choice for those with limited programming skills comes down to buying a certified template from someone else that meets the need for more modules, or attempting their own hacks, 90% of them are going to go with the preconfigured solution. That’s what 15 years of marketing data and experience have shown me. Ignoring this fact works to your company’s detriment.

Agree with mattstahl here. Adding more module positions would be a great option. Most of the templates should have a way of showing at least the most “common” ones, such as banner, footer and so on. The more module options the better. Of course, the site doesn’t have to look “cramped” but need to have a few good options.

Wishing you all a great day and looking forward to the new template!

I also agree with mattstahl here.

Adding more module positions would be a great option.

Example template, you can show it on http://demo.rockettheme.com/jan07/

Thank you and hope to see soon a template with more module positions! 🙂

    Hi all,

    My contribution to this thread:

Many websites are far too crowded to be friendly or good to look at, so I vote for a sensible use of current module positions first. 😉

The above mentioned template is far too crowded, and not color friendly. If I ever want to compete with CNN, I will surely use it! 😀

Another well-known research fact: too much information doesn’t work well on a website. Yet many wish to make their frontpage contain everything, and more.

Even though I agree wiht antoniu that we have to be carefull not to make our website too crowded (personal taste), I do want to have more module positions. Because more module positions give you more flexibility in arranging your site. 😎

You can make very modest and use less module options (especially if you want to give it a more kind of Blog look) or use more modules if you want to give it a Magazin kind of look)

    Hi Winston,

You’re right, in that sense I agree with you totally. The more flexibility, the better.

But I wouldn’t say that Joomlart would loose any value by not providing them right now. The templates are worth far more than is paid for in any case. The rest I see as extra and as Khanh wrote, they are always willing to help you add more positions.

    Thanks!
    Tom
